David Brog

President of the Edmund Burke Foundation; co-organizer of National Conservatism with Yoram Hazony and Christopher DeMuth; Princeton undergraduate, Harvard Law; former executive director of Christians United for Israel (CUFI)

Brog brings Christian-Zionist organizational experience and donor networks to the National Conservatism project. Paul Gottfried, in his 2019 Mencken Club presidential address, sarcastically described NatCon as organized by “a Zionist philanthropist, David Brog, and an Israeli nationalist Yoram Hazony” — a paleocon swipe that reflects the recurring tension between the Hazony/Brog NatCon project (philosemitic, pro-Israel, Anglo-Jewish) and the older paleoconservative right (often Buchananite, restrictionist, suspicious of Israel and Jewish neoconservative influence).
